7 Affiliate Marketing Mistakes That Are Costing You Commissions
Most beginners make the same avoidable mistakes. After coaching hundreds of new affiliates, here are the seven patterns we see most often — and exactly how to fix them.
Mistake #1: Promoting too many products at once. Focus beats volume every time. Pick 2–3 programs you genuinely believe in and go deep on promoting them.
Mistake #2: Not disclosing affiliate relationships. This is both an FTC requirement and a trust issue. Always disclose — your audience will respect you more for it, not less.
Mistake #3: Sending traffic directly to affiliate links without a landing page or content in between. Warm your audience up first. Cold traffic rarely converts.
Mistake #4: Giving up after 30 days. Affiliate marketing is a long game. Most successful affiliates didn't see significant income until month 3–6. Consistency is the differentiator.
